In case you missed it, Riverwood Mansion had it’s first Open House earlier this month. We had a wonderful time welcoming our local community onto the property. Guests enjoyed music, food tastings from 8 Lavender Lane and sample cocktails from SPEAKeasy Distillery. while touring the mansion and mingling in our gardens.
Within the past two months, new management has taken over operations at the property, led
by Debbie Sutton and the 8 Lavender Lane Catering & Events team.
“Riverwood has been coined as “Nashville’s Best Kept Secret.” We aim to change that. We want
Nashville to feel like this is “Their Mansion”. -Debbie Sutton

Lydia and Hunter had the most ideal wedding day last November surrounded by their closest loved ones. The Bride & Groom decided to have a special moment to see one another before the wedding ceremony. It is always so sweet to see the images of the groom’s face as he turns around to see his bride for the first time on their wedding day. There was definitely no denying the love these two shared for one another.
The intimate ceremony was held in Riverwood’s Triple Parlor, with beautiful boxwood initials adorning the altar and real candles lit throughout, creating a truly romantic setting. Keeping with the southern theme, RC’s and Moon Pies were given to guests as favors and homemade pies served as the Groom’s dessert. The Bride & Groom kept their guests entertained during the reception by playing “The Shoe Game” and enjoying music by the DJ throughout the evening. We enjoyed having the opportunity to share this day with Lydia & Hunter and wish them a lifetime of happiness!

This sweet couple set the stage for a gorgeous June wedding with a whimsical and romantic theme. The Bride wore a stunning all lace gown and had her sweet dog by her side the entire day. The ceremony took place in Riverwood’s garden, while the sun was setting behind the couple as they exchanged vows. The reception followed in Riverwood’s pavilion, which was filled with iridescent camel-colored linens enhanced with a vibrant display of florals, and pre-set gold rimmed chargers topped with pink bowtie napkins and roses. Chef’s Market was onsite providing a wonderfully delicious meal and afterwards the band had guests covering the dance floor. What a wonderful evening! Congratulations to Ashley and Jared!
Riverwood Mansion hosted some of our fellow peers from the International Special Event Society (ISES) and wanted to share some of the amazing pictures. It was a great opportunity to get to know some of the amazing event vendors in Nashville. The garden was the perfect backdrop for mixing and mingling during this “Social Soiree” themed meeting. This is great inspiration for many corporate clients to come.

Riverwood recently had the opportunity to be a part of an incredible styled shoot designed by Kelly Dellinger Events with Bohemian Luxe wedding inspiration. It took place in Riverwood’s grand triple parlor where the hand painted walls were the perfect backdrop for the vision the designers had behind the shoot. Table settings featured satin full length linens with braided runners, along with antique gold and silver candle holders and votives. The gold chiavari chairs adorned with beautifully braided linens were the perfect touch alongside the elegant china and calligraphic place cards.

Spring has sprung, and with the longer days and warmer weather comes the start of the wedding season. We are always inspired by our brides’ spring accents as they work them into their wedding day.
To get started we have included a list trending colors for spring 2014. These light color options can be paired with white or off white for a clean, conservative look, or combined with other colors on the list for a more dramatic palette. These colors can then be carried over into the floral décor in your bouquets, centerpieces and arch designs. Additionally, your bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s ties and socks can echo the colors found in your spring colors as well.
Shake off winter’s chill by taking in all spring has to offer, get inspired and work your likes into your wedding day for a cohesively themed spring event.
This very handsome couple shared their wedding day with friends and family, on a sunny day in June at Riverwood Mansion. This real wedding was classic elegance. Sarah was adorned with vintage broaches on her waist and atop her shoes and held a bouquet full of white peonies. The two shared a special moment at their private dinner upstairs in the mansion, when Matt surprised Sarah with a gift. The couple was then announced into our draped pavilion, accented with shades of purple and green, where guests had gathered together to celebrate their new beginning. Congratulations Sarah and Matt!
For this real wedding at Riverwood Mansion, Jennica and Tripp were blessed with a gorgeous May wedding day. Although their colors were subtle pinks and grays, their excitement and love for each other was anything but subtle. Their “first look, no look,” where they hold hands without seeing each other before the ceremony, illustrates this beautifully.
The piazza, surrounded with our fresh blooming garden, was a stunning backdrop for the ceremony. All the details were meticulously planned, from creative programs to hand written chalkboard signage. A Catered Affair and the band Trotline pulled off an impressive reception before Grand Avenue’s Rolls Royce swept the newlyweds away.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Jennica and Tripp, as well as all the vendors. We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed being there.
Our January Open House was a huge success! We had a number of new faces come out to see Riverwood for the first time and we loved getting to know everyone. Because it was a Saturday morning, we provided hot coffee to shake off the cold, and tasty doughnuts to satisfy the sweet tooth. Plus, we used our hanging votive centerpieces and large Moroccan lanterns combined with light and fresh arrangements throughout the venue. Our staff was on hand to give tours and answer questions and we are very excited knowing we’ll see several of our guests again now that they are officially Riverwood brides! If you missed it and would like to come see us, just call or e-mail to set up a tour.
