Brews in the News

As always, we love our East Nashville neighborhood and enjoy being a part of a community with so many exciting things happening over on the East side. Our growth over the past few years and unique, creative culture is something to be recognized.

The East Nashvillian released news last week on their blog of plans for the craft beer industry to stretch its way over into the East Nashville neighborhood. These plans are in the early stages, but we did get a little bit of information on who is coming and where they'll be.

Nicole Keiper of The East Nashvillian  filled us in when she heard the first announcement from Eater Nashville "...the former Worm’s Way building’s new tenants: The folks at Smith & Lentz Brewing are already at work renovating the space to build their small-batch brewery and taproom."

And just around the corner from our home over on the East side, Southern Grist Brewing Company will be moving into the recently closed Boone & Sons building on Porter Road. Along with the small batch brewery will be an on-site taproom that will open up to the public for tastings!

Southern Hospitality

Southern Hospitality

We recently read an article on the subject of southern hospitality. This phrase pertains to the particularly warm, welcoming, and generous characteristics of those living in the south. Southern Hospitality plays a large part in our cultural values and is reflective in Riverwood Mansions overall vision. We thought it would be fun to share what we mean when we say "Riverwood adds a special touch of southern hospitality and charm to each event".

"Welcoming someone into your home with a kind, warm and generous spirit defines hospitality no matter where you are. Southern hospitality adds an amped-up sense of charisma, poise and style to the tradition." - Susan Lundman, eHow Contributor ( source: ?ref=Track2&utm_source=ask)

Charisma and Competence

Here in the South, we are kind hearted and well mannered. We make an effort to show that in every social aspect of our lives. No matter the occasion, hosts can turn any gathering into a lavish and memorable affair. Southern etiquette isn't a thing of the past. A host never lets your glass go empty, and works to make every person in her home feel as though they are special.

Thoughtful Attention to Detail

When you enter a home where Southern hospitality flourishes you will know because you will probably see flowers on the front porch and in the centerpiece of the table. Delicious food is at the heart of every gathering and a good place setting is extremely important. There is a warm feeling of overflowing love for friends, family, and even strangers when you walk into the room.

Honoring our roots + history

The custom and tradition of Southern hospitality evolved out of the South's rural roots. In the South we are proud of our heritage and history makes up a large part of our identity. We know where we come from and we celebrate our past by holding true to traditions for hundreds of years.

We embrace the rich history of Riverwood mansion and do our part to continue the customs and sustain the culture that has been established on the mansion grounds for so long. Riverwood is one of Nashville’s oldest homes. Known for its lavish parties, with famous guests including seven U.S. presidents. We continue the tradition of making unforgettable memories.

Southern Hospitality is just a part of who we are at Riverwood Mansion. We strive to add these southern touches to every event we host. Our professional staff is warm, helpful and knowledgeable. We focus on the details, aim to make all of our clients feel special and all our guests to feel welcome.
