Our wedding guests experienced true 'Southern Hospitality' in a gorgeous Southern Mansion thanks to all of those at Riverwood Mansion on May 30th for the Schuessler/Meseck wedding. Although we had rain, and we ended up having the ceremony inside, everything went smoothly and we all enjoyed the evening. All knew exactly what to do and made the wedding so perfect even with the 6 kids under 7 yrs old that we had in the wedding. One of the flower girls had strawberry stain on her dress and you had stain stick and paper towels to get rid of it before the ceremony. Then later when red wine was spilled on Jolynne's wedding dress, we had the stain remover and towels to get it out immediately. During the evening, it was as if you could foresee what we needed and as if it magically appeared or even was handed to us. Any of our requests were met with a smile. The staff was wonderful to work with and we wouldn't have changed anything. We received compliments on the service, decor, and food during the evening and were so proud that we had chosen Riverwood Mansion for the wedding venue. The mansion was beautiful and the twinkle lights along with the decor created a fantasy atmosphere. The huge china plates provided for the buffet dinner were so pretty. It was a very classy wedding as one of the guests described it. Jolynne and Jake's vision for their wedding materialized that evening. I was pleased with how well-coordinated and well executed the entire event was. I loved the earpieces and how they helped you guys to stay on track without having to constantly run around! I want to personally thank you for making my dream wedding a reality. From the time Ali and I were engaged to the time we were married was only 8 weeks. We both sold and moved out of our houses becoming "homeless" the week of our wedding. I became sick with the Hini flu. Despite being homeless and sick, our wedding was so well-planned we had no worries. The day of the wedding, thunderstorms prevented us from having a garden ceremony. Even though the wedding was moved inside the pavilion, (I had said I didn't want a tent wedding), it could not have been more beautiful. We received compliments from all of our guests. As the mother of the bride I want to express my appreciation to Kimberly, Joyce, staff members of Riverwood Mansion and vendors for a worry and stress free experience on Amanda and Carl's special day. When Amanda started looking for a location for their wedding she wanted outside but wanted the site to also have the option of moving inside if need be. The first time we met with Kimberly it was really raining outside and we saw that if the wedding had to be inside the pavilion could handle rain. On the second time we met with Kimberly it was again raining - on the third time we met with Kimberly once again it was raining. I shared with her that the odds didn't look good as far the chance of rain on the day of their wedding. Kimberly has this way about her that made the thought of rain on that special day just vanish out of my mind. The date was Saturday, November 8th and up until that day the temperatures were in the 70's...you guessed it the temperatures were in the 50's BUT NO RAIN. The mansion was beautiful and we were greeted by Kimberly as soon as we arrived. I told her I could relax now as the mother of the bride because we were there and it was all in their hands from that point on. She smiled and said we will take it from here. The flowers were beautiful and just as Amanda wanted. There were many compliments on the food and the cake was beautiful and delicious. The wedding party (even the guys) stated that Kimberly and Joyce were both so nice to work with and a delight. Our photographer was not a vendor provided by Riverwood Mansion but referred to us by a friend - her expression to me was that she had never worked with a location as organized as Riverwood Mansion which made her job easier. By the staff being so efficient she never had to track down the wedding party or family members when it was time for pictures therefore no stress for she and her associates. As the evening passed and dark came the mansion inside and out was beautiful with candles and outside lighting. Family and friends said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever attended... perfect setting for an outside wedding. I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for making our wedding the most perfect and glorious wedding I could have ever imagined. When I set out to look for venues, I hoped to find an outdoor venue that was reasonably priced and had an all-inclusive spot for the wedding and the ceremony. Because I was working full-time, in graduate school full-time, and knew I would be selling my house to move to my husband's home, I did not have a lot of time to spend planning the wedding. When I met with your staff, I knew right away we had found the perfect place. The professionalism and organization they showed made me feel comfortable. We booked everything right away and I didn't have to worry about a thing for months. When the time came for the wedding, I had graduated and sold my house. With those things out of the way, I wondered if I had spent enough time planning the wedding. Had I looked into the finer details? Would my guests feel comfortable? As I met with your staff, I realized that they had thought of everything. They walked me through the entire thing from beginning to end. They assured me that not only had everything been covered, but it was going to be fantastic. On the day of the wedding, I was blown away with how incredible the mansion and grounds looked. Since we had just broken a month of record 100 degree temperatures in August 2007, I thought things might be brown and dying. To my surprise, the grounds were thriving and looked amazing. Everything went so smoothly during that day. Time and time again, the thing that my guests still comment on six months later is how beautiful the facility was, how smoothly everything ran, and how incredibly professional the staff were. People still rave about our wedding and say it is by far one of the top they have ever attended. My sister-in-law, who has been in over a dozen weddings, says that it was hands-down the most relaxed and well-run weddings she has ever seen. Many of my friends commented that it was much more spectacular, enjoyable and well-run than their own weddings. Brian and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves every single moment of our special day, and we were able to do that due to the dedication of your incredible staff. I could have never imagined in my wildest dreams that a wedding could be so whimsical, fun, meaningful and memorable all at the same time. I truly cannot put into words how much that day meant to me, and it is all due to your beautiful facility and your staff. When we received our pictures from the photographer, I could not believe how amazing everything looked. It is hard to describe how well the pictures capture the beauty of your facility and the magic of the day. I never thought that wedding pictures could mean so much to me. When I started the wedding planning process, I had an attitude that weddings were days that people typically get overly excited about, spend too much money on and stress about too much. Now I know how memorable one day can be. I am forever indebted to your staff for providing me one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Your knowledge, guidence, and flexibility made it so easy to plan from 600 miles away. Adding a groomsman a week before the wedding could have been a major issue. For two people who dislike being the center of attention, you made both of us feel comfortable in every way possible.
